Last KCWC

When I started the Kids Clothes Week Challenge, I thought how am I ever going to find an hour a day for seven days to sit down and sew?  With seven children ranging from 14-1, by the time I get any "me" time I'm so exhausted I just want to crawl into bed.  I have to usually plan sewing time during nap time or after bedtime because my youngest likes to wait until I get up from my machine  to press or pin some thing and waddles over, climbs onto my chair, and either pushes every button on my machine or tries to grab for the iron. The very hot iron mind you.  After about five times of that I learned not to sew while he was awake!  But I do have to say I'm extremely glad I made myself do at least an hour a day because I ended up getting so many projects done.  I saved some of the projects I sewed to share with you guys and will be posting them really soon.  This was my last project I did for KCWC:

Its the same pattern I used to make the Blue Bird Dress, the First Day Dress and Top by Made.  Except this time I made the swing top with sleeves.  There's also an A-line version with the pattern but I haven't yet made it.  I just love the look of the swing dress/top because its so feminine and classic looking.  Fortunately for me, my girls like that I make their clothes and love even more to take pictures in them. I have all super girly tomboys. The kind who like to wear dresses while they're making mud pies and climbing trees.  You wouldn't believe how many shorties I've made to go under those dresses : )  For this top I used a floral print by Waverly Place and a red broadcloth for the lining I bought at a recent, quick trip to Joann's.  Who am I kidding, that trip lasted two hours!
